Gender Affirming Surgery Letters in Pennsylvania
Need a mental health support letter for gender affirming surgery?
I provide diagnostic assessments and referral letters for gender affirming surgery for adults located in Pennsylvania.
I operate from an informed consent model, meaning once I determine you meet diagnostic criteria and you’re able to consent, I can write your letter. Letters conform to the World Professional Association for Transgender Health (WPATH) Standards of Care.
Gender Affirming Surgery Letter FAQs
How much does it cost?
A $150 flat fee includes a diagnostic assessment, a letter conforming to WPATH Standards of Care, and one free letter revision if needed. I don’t accept insurance for one-time assessments. If you plan to continue therapy with me and would like to use your insurance benefits we can discuss further.
How long does it take to get a letter?
I’m typically able to schedule assessments within one to two weeks of you reaching out. You’ll need to complete some intake forms within 24 hours of your appointment. Once your assessment is complete, I’ll provide your letter within 10 business days, often faster. Please note that a letter is not a guaranteed outcome.
What happens during the assessment?
During your assessment, I’ll collect information about your gender identity, mental health history, your knowledge about the procedure you’re seeking, surgical risks, and your plans for surgical recovery. This information will allow me to determine if you meet diagnostic criteria and are able to consent to surgery. As a trans person, I’ve been through this process myself and understand how vulnerable it can feel to share these intimate details with someone you just met. I aim to make the assessment as comfortable as possible for you.
What if I need ongoing therapy?
I provide therapy to support exploration of gender identity, sexual orientation, and a variety of mental health concerns. When you contact me, let me know if you’re interested in ongoing therapy.
